What the Church is Not Warned About, But...

Alas! for that day is great, so that none is like it: it is even the time of Jacob's trouble; but he shall be saved out of it. Jeremiah 30:7

The faithful are warned about many things in the church epistles. Some are present evils, and some, like the great apostasy, refer to our future. But one thing we are never warned of is the great tribulation.

The New Testament gives us many details of this terrible time, but never any warning that applies to the church. Anyone who does not believe this--that we will not be on earth during this 7 year period--can seek a place in the Bible that says we will be.

Obviously, the book of Revelation is the most detailed description of the tribulation period. In its account, there is not one reference to the church. Yet there is an industry devoted to warning us otherwise.

There is a large group that agrees we will be raptured before the great tribulation, yet says we will go through the first half of the tribulation--the 3-1/2 year period known as the "beginning of sorrows". This is the mid-trib position. So, let them find us mentioned in the Bible during that period of time.

They never quit. They seem to have a burning desire to put Christians into a period that Jesus has promised to deliver us from (Revelation 3:10). As Lewis Sperry Chaffer would say, "The only flaw in their theory is the complete lack of evidence in its support."

Christians have many warnings. Must we have non-church warnings added to them?
