Pluto was the god of the Greek underworld. He was also called Hades. Just a coincidence?
What if a very good artist had completed a series of beautiful illustrations for a book of Bible stories. She submits them to the publisher and receives the following letter.
"Dear Miss Artist,
Simply love your illustrations! We plan to use them, but with slight alterations. Though we will retain your original art work, we will add some drawings of naked Greek gods. You don't mind do you?"
I am certain that she would mind very much, and she should. Yet Greek mythology has been incorporated into the very passages where Jesus is supposed to utter them. Let me give you an example.
In Matthew 5:22, Jesus is quoted as saying, "...whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of hell fire." Any online search in Strong's or in a print concordance will show what Jesus actually said, instead of "hell". He said, "Gehenna". Saying "fool" could get you killed in those days, just as today. Your body would not be buried, but cast into Jerusalem's valley of Gehenna.
To many, the words of a translation are more valid than what Jesus actually said. "Hell" has been inserted into our translations. A simple study Bible will give you the original mistranslation, then the correct word.
A precious few will use this simple way to find the truth. The others will continue to believe the Disney version.
