Why is Zechariah Like Maple Syrup?

I say then, Hath God cast away his people? God forbid. For I also am an Israelite, of the seed of Abraham, of the tribe of Benjamin. Romans 11:1

Not because it it so sweet--it's too powerful to be described in that way--but because it is so concentrated. This great prophetic book has so much in it. But it is not about the church. So those who limit themselves to the New Testament avoid or neglect Zechariah.

Those poor ignorant people who do so, especially the "church replacement" crowd, suffer from a misunderstanding of God's chosen nation and it's wonderful future. Worse yet, those who "stick to the Gospels" have little knowledge of the church, even though they go to synagogue every Saturday. That is what they should do to be good neo-Israelites.

The sweep of Zechariah amazes me each time I hear it. It is not a dusty old book at all. It extends into the future of our day. Want to know the future?

For the people of Israel, after the church goes to heaven, this is a great source of their future. God is not through with His people. His future dealings with them can be found in Zechariah.
