Why All the Fuss About Immortal Souls?

I love this question so much I thought I would ask it of myself. It's a lot more than a "fuss" though. It is about following and promoting a Satanic lie. God warns Adam and Eve two times of death. Immeadiately (Genesis 3:4), Satan tells Eve "Ye shall not surely die."

Why repeat a scripture that everyone knows? Because almost everyone ignores it, that's why.

The invention of the idea of an immortal soul was supposed to nullify God's warnings. With this invention we have the phrase "That's just the body!" God does not mention the creation of a separate and immortal soul in Genesis or anywhere else. But, no matter, Satan did, and mankind has followed it ever since.

Still, what does following Satan's lie really hurt? It is very comforting to those who rely on SELF, rather than God's promise to resurrect us from the dust to which we all return. You see, if we are inherently immortal, what need is there for a resurrection at all? Ergo, the immortal soul doctrine cancels out the promised resurrection.

This is explained piously by saying, "It's true that we do go to heaven as soon as we die, in our 'soulish state', but we need our bodies to really enjoy it." So, they posit, we start out by going to heaven as souls, and later go again in our bodies. This is countered by those who say that as non-material beings we are finally "free" from all physical constraints.

None of these ideas have any Biblical support, but are the result of Satanicly-inspired egos. Jesus died and was resurrected in a spiritual body with the ability to pass through walls, yet retaining His wounds. So, no places will be set at the Marriage Supper of the Lamb for immaterial "souls".

Jesus tells us plainly when we will go to heaven--with Him.

And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also. John 14:3

It is at His return that we are resurrected and then go to heaven. At His return.
