"A Small World of Tribal Drums"

This was how Marshall McLuhan described today's culture. Just as the invention of the printing press paved the way for individualism, the new electronic mass media has brought us together once again, and not for good.

And what is a major characteristic of this non-print society? Again, Marshall says, "Terror is the normal state of any oral society..." This Canadian born genius of media predicted the World Wide Web 30 years before it was formed. He explains where we came from and what we are now.

I had a copy of his book, The Mechanical Bride, probably chewed up by mice now. I struggled with this author for years, but finally am seeing him for what he was--a prophet of the techniques used to lie to and manipulate people.

Though it is ancient, let's never forget the printed word, the method God has used to communicate to us for thousands of years. We might even visit a Bible store. They will welcome you there.
