The Burial of Gog

Yea, all the people of the land shall bury them, and it shall be to them a renown the day that I shall be glorified, saith the Lord GOD. Ezekiel 39:13

Gog looms large in prophecy. It's identity is often explained depending on the political agenda of the interpreter. Whatever the current threat seems to be, that will be their Gog. If we are told to hate and fear Russia (I do not) then Russia is made into Gog.

It amazes me how interpreters are so easily manipulated by current propaganda. To upset their little carts, let me say, I do not care who Gog is. It is a future threat to the land of Israel and may not even be formed up yet. An old proverb concerning interpretation says, Prophecy is not given so that we may prophesy.

Although Gog is usually presented as a terrible threat, today I wish to discuss it as dead Gog, a bunch of rotting corpses that will require seven months to bury. How many threats are presented as only living threats. Some day they will all die.

Imagine dead Goliath, no longer a threat. Death itself as no longer a threat. Let's take a better perspective on this. All "Gogs" will some day die.

Ezekiel 39 is really worth a read, not as a great battle, but as the peaceful aftermath. A job description in those days may read, "Wanted, workers to bury the remnants of a former threat."
