Saved by a Lying Prostitute

By faith the prostitute Rahab, because she welcomed the spies, was not killed with those who were disobedient. Hebrews 11:31

In the same way, was not even Rahab the prostitute considered righteous for what she did when she gave lodging to the spies and sent them off in a different direction? James 2:25

I imagine that if her Hollywood agent had called up Yvonne De Carlo and said, "Have I got a part for you!" she would have accepted the role.

In the same way, I don't think there are any statues or stained glass windows of Rahab in any churches. But maybe there should be. After all, she was mentioned in the famous Hebrews 11 chapter of "heroes of the faith".

Her story could match any "spy drama". A lot depended on her deception--in fact the lives of the two young spies. She was spared and so was her family. Is it not wonderful who God can use and save from destruction?
