Pilate's Wife

And when he was set down on the judgement seat, his wife sent unto him, saying, Have thou nothing to do with that just man: for I have suffered many things this day in a dream because of him. Matthew 27:19

Can you even imagine one of the Jews' wives saying such a thing? Those who wanted to crucify Jesus had no such reservations. First we find that Pilate's wife was outspoken, then that she had a troubling dream about Jesus. Furthermore, she called him a "just man". Later, when a Roman soldier declares his belief, we see God opening the eyes of the Gentiles, while keeping the Jewish authorities in darkness.

A great transition is soon to take place. For it was long ago predicted that the Jews would be blinded, while the Gentiles would see the truth. It is a temporary hiatus, not a permanent casting off, though many would argue this. We Gentiles have seen a great revelation, and I like to think that Pilate's wife was one of the first to see it.
