A Friend in Trouble

Alas! for that day is great, so that none is like it: it is even the time of Jacob's trouble; but he shall be saved out of it. Jer. 30:7

A very dear friend is going through a terrible time. Her childhood friend just died. Someone she had known for about fifty years. In this sad time she has been bombarded with warning lectures from an ignorant woman. The latest are about the trumpet sounds videos on YouTube.

It is very common to say that these represent the trumpets in the Book of Revelation. Timing is everything in our understanding of this book, and number or quantity is also. There are lots of sounds and have been for years. Weird they are, and not all of "trumpets".

This hectoring, ignorant woman is trying to frighten my friend by telling her that we're about to be plunged into the Great Tribulation. Very simply, this period will come. It is the time of Jacob's Trouble, and we will not go through it.

How can I say this? Anyone can. Go to the Word, study it for years, love it, avoid speculations or church teachings, and the answer will be there for you.

Unbelievers and those in worldly churches laugh at those who study this subject, but it is a science, and just like geometry has rules. It should be the area of reading and understanding. A few decades of such study can really open things up.

To deride these endeavors is like turning your back on beautiful art because someone does art poorly. To the "eye rollers" out there, this can be a wonderful subject of study. It brings peace out of chaos.

Because thou hast kept the word of my patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth. Revelation 3:10

Since you have kept my command to endure patiently, I will also keep you from the hour of trial that is going to come on the whole world to test the inhabitants of the earth. Revelation 3:10, NIV
