A Vision of the Kingdom

Verily I say unto you, There be some standing here, which shall not taste of death, till they see the Son of Man coming in his kingdom. Matthew 16:28

He was a speeder, no doubt about that. He sped when he taught children. "I like to get 'em when they're young," he would say. He sped when he taught their parents. "Never too late" was his motto.

He read books about speeding. Some say he was even writing one about how to speed . I mean he was a speed nut! Maybe worst of all he was planning to attend a seminary famous for its teaching of The Theology of Speeding and getting an advanced degree.

For you see, this man did not use an automobile to speed. He actually used the Bible. Matthew was his favorite book in which to do this. "But I thought you were talking about a car driver. How could you hurt people with a Bible? Surely he is harmless."

This preacher-teacher-author may have done more harm than you realize. He is trying to make the prophetic words of Jesus come true before their time.

I was driving with a young lady--a kid really. I must have been going too slow for her. "Can't you go any faster?" she complained. This is so typical. I mean did you ever eat in a Slow Food place?

But doesn't the above quotation of Jesus prove that the Kingdom was set up within the lifetime of the disciples?" Obviously, Jesus said some standing there would not taste death until they saw the Son of Man coming in His glory. And they certainly did. They saw it. But it did not come.

And as they came down from the mountain, Jesus charged them, saying, Tell the vision to no man, until the Son of Man be risen again from the dead.

Ten verses tell of a vision. So worth reading, for those who take the time.
